Vote on a currency!

Since I can't think of a good one to use, I'll let us all vote on the currency that will be used in Avalon!


I would really like for slime balls to be the currency, it may sound silly, but you can't accidentally place it (like an ore block) and you can't get it anywhere that I know of.

*Edit: For ores, remember that if you sit it down then you lose it because you can't get it back into the ore block.

And don't confuse Gold/Diamond ORE with Gold/Diamond bars/ingots/gems.

I think you should use a variety of suff for currency... but if not coal or gold...im realy not sure lol

i would not choose for gold or diamond ore. these are supposed to be rare and cost allot of time to find.

slime balls seem perfect you cant find them anywhere in the game atm

This allows the admin to have FULL control over the currency, and not have every idiot that finds a set of gold or diamond to add more currency into the mix, making things cost less.

I am fine with anything ass currency though as long as it is an admin-only block to avid fraud.

Just suggested snow as, when held, it does look like paper and thus, dollar bills.

Oh, and just for some insight, Gold is naturally harvested as an ore until you smelt it. lol.

Redstone could work as well

Maybe we could make atleast some basic prices of products if we have the currency('s)

Also, Slime balls should NOT be used. Anything that is able to be gotten by normal means and not through admin access means the economy could crash by someone finding some slimes.

Er, slime balls are admin only.

With that admin only blocks you mean that players don't have blocks like, mud, stone etc?

Ah, so you are turning off monsters?

Too bad, they having invulnerability was actually an interesting challenge.

Admin blocks = blocks that can only be gotten by hacking

Normal bloacks that are getherable are still fine.

Yeah, monsters are going to stay off until they can actually do stuff.

Nope, go to the forum some people have found them. But the only way to kill slime monsters is to get them in contact with water. So you
need to bring a bucket of water with you

as long the currency is an admin only block ill be ok with it!

I think it would be better if we had more of a trade.

Say I trade you my diamond pickaxe for 3 steel bars?

Or

We do a basic 1 diamond = 100 gold = 1000 iron = 10 000 cobblestone

Or something along those lines.

10 000 seems huge but it's just an example.
Maybe

1 diamond = 10 gold = 30 iron = 100 cobblestone?

Really depends on the rarity of each material.

Otherwise slimeballs seem fit to be currency. I just find that new money won't get into our economy.

Say one person controls the whole market and has all the cash and decides to never buy anything. Thus we would all be poor and incapable of trade of any sort. So maybe redstones.

Overall any kind o' currency would be fine.

Yeah Dereks idea is indeed nice, but i guess is that with the original economical system you can sell your diamonds for money at the bank so you don't get one person controlling the money flow. by example i get 1 money for a cobblestone and 1000 money for a diamond, now the only problem is can i stack an item 1000 times? if not you will need allot of chests to store your money

i think slime is a good idea because unlike other currency you cant just mine it which mean that people will spend more time actually working instead of just mining. also, there should be a place (like a bank of sorts) that you could trade in gold or diamond etc for slime balls.
